Live Show: West of Eden showcases "PLAYGROUND" EP across the West Coast

The Playground Show was a mini tour hosted by Seattle-based, West of Eden (WoE) - an 18-member collective full of creatives who collaborate together, utilizing various art mediums. The two-stop tour was held in Seattle and Los Angeles. magSCENE had the honor to cover the latter show.
The air was cold as you stepped into The Moroccan Lounge. Venue staff and WoE members worked to get their respective areas set up. Not a minute was to be wasted, as the show would begin 15 minutes after doors opened. Regardless, positive energy flowed through the crew.
aidenf7 kicked off the performances for the night, warming up the stage for everyone. He held it down as the audience made their way inside. Towards the end of his set, I finally took my eyes away from the camera and gasped at seeing the crowd, now doubled in size. Following that performance was chiabiee, who recently released the pop single, “lipgloss.” The energy still rolling, the crowd held a mini mosh pit during chiabiee’s set. The final opener for the night, Sonny Zero, took the stage and swooned the crowd with his R&B tracks.
The crowd for West of Eden was dedicated to showing up for the group. Phones held high. Fans screamed at the top of their lungs. Banter occurred between songs. While the songs and faces were all new to me, the familiarity of a small, intimate show full of genuine supporters broke through and brought a smile to my face multiple times throughout the set.
Performing on stage were the four musicians: jun.e, slone, riensu, and keanu.. To my surprise, the members went off stage early, only to bring back camping chairs and open up the floor for a short Q&A session with the fans. Once the antics were over, WoE continued to play out the rest of their set. Ending the show with a bang, the group brought the collective on stage - garnering an unstoppable wave of cheers from the crowd, as they danced the night away.
