The Runarounds are an indie-alternative rock band consisting of members Will Lipton (Vocals & guitar ), Axel Ellis (Guitar & vocals), Jesse Golliher (Bassist & vocals), Zendé Murdock (Drums) & Jeremy Yun (Guitar), who came together in 2020 but have recently made a name for themselves through their unique story & electric chemistry on screen and on stage. What began as a fictional concept for a television show evolved into a real band, leading to live performances, original music, and a growing fan base. Since the debut of their Prime Video original series “The Runarounds” (2025), the group has continued to build momentum, establishing themselves as a fresh and authentic presence in the alternative music scene.
Amongst their packed discography lies “Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay)”, a song that reveals how much emotional weight The Runarounds carry in their music. Originally featured in their Album “The Runarounds (Prime Video Original Series Soundtrack)”, the band revisits the song with a new studio-recorded version of the track. which on the surface feels subtly tweaked, yet those small changes significantly alter the song’s emotional weight.
One of the most significant differences, upon first listen, is the choice to go up a key. Though subtle, this shift has a striking effect on the listening experience. The higher key places, what feels like, an emotional strain on the vocals, making the delivery feel more earnest. This shift enhances the song’s themes of longing, giving the track a more polished and complete finish. The result is a more confident version of “Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay)” that feels fully developed without losing the vulnerability that made the original compelling.
The production is also tighter and more refined, with cleaner instrumentation and a fuller, more grounded sound. What has always stood out about The Runarounds is how each of the members are exceptionally talented and highly skilled at their craft; there is no weak link in the band. This creates a distinct musical identity while allowing them to work smoothly as a group. This unity is especially evident in the new studio recording of the song, where the band’s technical skill and emotional depth combine to elevate the track, allowing the emotional weight to resonate more while maintaining precision. Instead of relying on one main focus, their strength lies in the balance between members. Individual talents contribute to the overall sound. As a result, this recording feels not only more expressive and polished but also more confident. It's an evolution that showcases The Runarounds’ growth both as musicians and as storytellers.
This release also paired with an official music video, directed by Dan Gillooly, which is a stripped-down performance video of the band focusing on mood and atmosphere, allowing the band's performance to feel raw and sincere. The simplicity of the video works in the song's favour, making the connection between the music & band feel more genuine.
“Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay)” stands out as one of the band's more impactful releases, and this new studio recording shows both their musical growth and their ability to connect on a personal level. The track sets apart The Runarounds as a band that continues to grow while remaining true to their sound.
“Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay)” is available to stream on all major streaming platforms and The Runarounds are currently on a 32-stop headline North American tour, where you can catch them performing “Arrhythmiya (I Hope You Stay)” alongside their fan-favourite tracks such as, “Minivan”, “Downtown” & “Shoelaces”, to name a few, and it's already a tour that is chalking up to go down as one for the books.
